About Us

The Great Ife Alumni Association, Dallas Branch is more than a gathering of graduates — we are a vibrant family bound by love for our alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University, and a shared desire to make a difference. We exist to give back, uplift one another, and extend the Great Ife legacy of excellence and service far beyond the walls of Ile-Ife.

Since its founding, our branch has grown into one of the most active and influential Great Ife alumni communities worldwide — a place where generations connect, friendships thrive, and purpose drives everything we do. Our membership spans from alumni of the 1960s to the 2000s, all united by pride in our heritage and a common goal: to strengthen the bridge between our alumni community and our beloved university.

In 2024, our branch achieved remarkable milestones that reflect our renewed energy and focus. We awarded the prestigious Dallas Scholars Award to 52 deserving students — a number that continues to grow each year — launched the Dallas Goodwill Store on the OAU campus to support students in need and celebrated our unity and friendships with a memorable Boat Cruise event.

We also inaugurated a new Executive Council and revitalized our standing committees — Education, Website, Membership, Scholarship, Welfare, Campus Liaison, Editorial and Events — each working tirelessly to expand our impact both at home and abroad.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to deepening our engagement with students and alumni alike. We will continue to support educational advancement through scholarships, mentorship, and campus projects; expand our Goodwill Store initiative; and promote family-oriented, career, and community programs that embody the Great Ife spirit of compassion and excellence.

At our core, we believe in unity of purpose, inclusiveness, and service. Whether it’s mentoring young scholars, supporting one another in times of need, or celebrating milestones together, we remain steadfast in our mission — to give back, grow together, and uphold the values that make every Great Ife alumnus proud.
